The 2010 Wrangler is ending the model year on an incredible roll, with sales were up 86 percent in June and an amazing 121 percent in July. But that doesn’t mean Team Jeep is content to rest on its Rubicon-ready laurels. In fact, the brand is about to take the Wrangler experience to the proverbial next level with two major enhancements for 2011, both of which are designed to meet key customer demands.
First off, the 2011 Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited, which are in production now, will boast an all-new interior that delivers significant upgrades in terms of design, comfort, versatility and style. An increased use of premium soft-touch materials, improved ergonomics and better NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) performance are all in the mix here, as are all-new steering-wheel controls that make it easier for drivers to operate the Wrangler’s sound system, cruise control and hands-free phone capabilities. That sound system also gets an enhanced USB interface.
According to the Executive Dodge Jeep Service, further important interior changes include more storage compartments and 12-volt accessory outlets, along with the addition of an available 110-volt port that provides the same kind of power access as a standard home outlet. In addition, to help recognize the 70th anniversary of the iconic brand’s birth, a celebratory inlay reading “Jeep, Since 1941” is mounted to the passenger’s grab handle using hex-head bolts, a long-time Jeep design cue.
The other big news for Wrangler for 2011?
“Sahara models now feature a stunning, all-new body-color hard top, for customers looking for a Jeep Wrangler with a more premium appearance,” according to Mike Manley, Jeep’s president and CEO.
Look for the 2011 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to start hitting dealerships—and some of the world’s toughest off-road trails—beginning this September.
