No, that headline isn’t just some kind of Jeep-branded marketing-speak. It comes straight from the ultimate arbiters of what’s hot and what’s not in the auto industry: The customers themselves. They’re the ones who just put the 2010 Wrangler on the “Readers’ Most Wanted List” at Edmunds.com’s Inside Line website, voting the Jeep into first place in the “Instant Classic Under $30,000” category.
The bottom line from the Inside Line: Editors called the Wrangler “One of the few automotive icons in this world,” and noted that “It’s stayed true to its heritage and deserves the win, even in this strong, competitive group.” And as for the readers, comments ranged from “There are so many things you can do with Jeep Wranglers you can’t do with other cars!” to “From Anzio to Rubicon, this will always be the standard for off-roading.”
That off-road performance comes courtesy of Jeep’s deep commitment to building the toughest, most capable 4X4’s in the world. Just check out the specs on the Wrangler. With 8.8 inches of ground clearance to go with approach/departure angles of 40.8 degrees/37.4 degrees, along with one of the industry’s most durable and effective all-wheel-drive systems, the Jeep is a rock-crawling wonder that was also recently named “Best and Most Significant 4X4 vehicle of the Decade” by Four Wheeler magazine and “Best New Car for Off-Roaders” by Cars.com.
Jeep Dealers Hartford said the new addition of the Wrangler Unlimited—which adds two doors to the Wrangler without taking away any of its functionality—there’s more of the Jeep to love than ever before.
“This prestigious award from the readers of Edmunds’ Inside Line reinforces the fact that consumers love the Jeep Wrangler,” said Mike Manley, president and CEO of Jeep. “Wrangler continues to bring a smile to our customers’ faces, offering a unique blend of benchmark capability and pure open-air fun and adventure that only Jeep can provide.”
